Dog walks: routes, discoveries and a walking diary
Make dog walks more varied, save useful routes and notice what your dog enjoys. What to record in a walk tracker, and why distance is only part of the story.

Different walks for different days
Your route depends on the weather, your dog's condition and what you can manage. Do not compare your walk with someone else's distance. A quiet outing with plenty of stops can be rich in experiences, even if it makes only a short line on the map.
Give them time to explore
When it is safe, allow time for sniffing and stopping. Watch how your dog responds to the surroundings. Choose your lead and walking conditions to suit local rules and the situation; a map cannot tell you whether a particular road is safe to cross.
Save one useful moment
A quiet new path, a comfortable resting spot or an interesting encounter needs only a short note. These observations are often more useful next time than a detailed report of every turn.
Recording a walk in Waglio
Start a walk in the app, mark important moments and finish the recording when you return. Your history helps you remember the day. Publishing a walk and giving family members location access are separate settings: choose them deliberately.
Look beyond the numbers
Time and route describe only part of a walk. Notice how calmly your dog returns home and whether you both felt comfortable. Discuss unusual tiredness or signs of pain with a qualified professional when deciding on activity.
